Homemade Taco Seasoning

It is super easy to make homemade taco seasoning with ingredients that available in your pantry.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder, Adjust to your spice level
  • 1/2 Teaspoon onion powder or granulated
  • 1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder or granulated
  • 1/2 Teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 Teaspoon paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 Teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Take a medium bowl and add all spices. Mix all together
  • Store this in an airtight glass container. If you keep it in a cool dry place it stays fresh for up to one year.
  • Use 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning per one pound of ground meat.

Notes

  1. If you really like spicy you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper
  2. If you don't like spicy you can replace chili powder with Kashmiri chili powder.  It has less heat than regular chili powder
  3. Use 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning per 1 pound of cooked ground meat.
