Broccoli on the stove top

How to cook broccoli on the stovetop, it takes less than 10 minutes and is super easy to make. It is healthy and delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large broccoli head Or 3 1/2 cups - 4 cups Broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp Oive oil or Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 4-5 fresh garlic finely chopped Optional
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • Wash and Clean Broccoli Head
  • Separate the Broccoli florets from the stems
  • Heat a large nonstick pan over medium heat. Once the pan is hot add 1 tbsp vegetable oil and 1 tbsp butter.
  • Optional: If you’re using fresh garlic: When the butter starts to melt, add chopped garlic. Sautee the garlic until soft and fragrant. If you like to use garlic powder then put that at the end. Note:1
  • Add the broccoli florets, leave them for a minute before tossing or stirring.
  • Add 2 tbsp water and stir to mix all together. Note:2
  • Add black pepper, salt and onion powder. If are using garlic powder, then add that as well.
  • Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with parmesan cheese and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Garlic is optional. You can either use fresh garlic or garlic powder. If you're using garlic powder then add it at the end.
  2. If you like softer broccoli then cover with a lid for 30 seconds. If you cook covered too long then it will be soggy.
