Turtle soup isn’t served everywhere, but it’s on the menu at the fabled Commander’s Palace. Turtle soup isn’t served everywhere, but it’s on the menu at the Commander’s Palace. We heard a lot about turtle soup in the reviews and tried it. The quail was fantastic. Pat O’Brien’s Bar is not only the original home of the Hurricane drink but also one of the best places to visit in New Orleans. We stopped in primarily for the famous hurricanes and decided to get few snacks. The roots of the brand are steeped in history and known for its signature drinks. It was nice to sit in the outdoor courtyard which evidently has a great patio set up with a fountain and live music.

One of the local’s favorite French Quarter spots for Beignets and Chicory Coffee. In 1993, Tommy Cvitanovich of Drago’s Restaurant invented the chargrilled oyster by brushing oysters on the half shell with a mixture of butter, garlic, and herbs, then grilled them in their shells with a sprinkle of Parmesan and Romano cheese, making a common New Orleans dish.

The restaurant was just two blocks from our hotel, close to the Magazine St. place. When reviews are so good, you expect a restaurant to be busy and that is the case for this one, it has often a long wait. It was packed with locals when we got there and we waited for about 30 minutes but was worth the wait. Check out their online waitlist before going. They have many types of creative eggs benedict and traditional breakfast which taste delicious!

The shop is busy around noon but they prepare sandwiches ahead of time to keep up with demand so we were able to get one fast. This old-fashioned grocery store founded in 1906. You must try the delicious muffuletta sandwich which is packed with quite a lot of Italian deli meats, cheese, olives etc, but half of it is enough for two people to share.
The Carousel Bar & Lounge – Inside the Hotel Monteleone
THE CAROUSEL BAR & LOUNGE
Address: 214 Royal Street, New Orleans
Phone: (504) 523-3341
Website: hotelmonteleone.com/entertainment/carousel-bar/
We came here mainly because of good reviews and they do have lots of different combinations of the best cocktails. You do not have to be a hotel guest to have a drink at the Carousel bar. They use ingredients like elderflower, spices, fruit infusions, simple syrups, spices, and other exotic liquors to create a unique taste. The tables around the bar are great, but if you get a seat at the bar, you’ll find yourself slowly rotating around the room.
